The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) is the Federal Government of Nigeria’s apex institution for promoting development and diversification of exports. NEPC has over the years worked to achieve its mandate by e.g.: coordinating and harmonising export development and promotion activities in the country taking the lead in all national export programs interfacing with international trade agencies on cooperation and capacity building

NEPCs CEO leads a Senior Management Team of directors and heads of departments. Together they provide strategic programmes and operational direction to a staff of 475 people. The council has its headquarters in Abuja. To ensure national coverage, NEPC operates via one regional office in each of the six geo-political zones. These regional offices supervise Export Assistance Centers and Smart Offices in 20 states.

HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification is a globally recognized standard for ensuring food safety. It’s a systematic approach to identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards that are significant for food safety. Here's an overview of the key aspects:

1. What is HACCP? Definition: HACCP is a preventive approach to food safety that focuses on identifying and managing potential hazards throughout the food production process. Objective: To ensure that food is safe for consumption by controlling biological, chemical, and physical hazards. 2. Key Principles of HACCP: Conduct a Hazard Analysis: Identify potential hazards that could affect food safety. Determine Critical Control Points (CCPs): Points in the process where control is essential to prevent, eliminate, or reduce hazards. Establish Critical Limits: Define maximum or minimum values (e.g., temperature) that must be met at CCPs. Establish Monitoring Procedures: Implement procedures to monitor CCPs to ensure they stay within critical limits. Establish Corrective Actions: Define actions to be taken when monitoring indicates that a CCP is not under control. Establish Verification Procedures: Confirm that the HACCP system is working effectively. Establish Record-Keeping and Documentation Procedures: Maintain records of monitoring, corrective actions, and verification activities.
